Christmas

It has been a long time since I have blogged but here it goes. I am very excited about Christmas and a little sad too. I am excited that I am spending it at home with my husband and my two beautiful kids. I am not having to worry about traveling around. I always loved that as a child, being able to wake up in my house and make memories with my brothers and parents. I want that for my children too, I want them to wake up together and laugh with each other and make their own memories. I am sad also, because I can't have my whole family together for Christmas. As a little girl I always dreamed about having a huge family get together, but as I get older I know that isn't possible. So I have learned that my wish is for my other family members to make their own memories on Christmas and make it memorable for everyone around them.

I am excited to start new holiday traditions with the kids. Aniston is starting to understand the things we do for the Holidays but Kinsler is still a little young but he will catch on. One thing I remember about Christmas is that my Mom would always read to us out of the Christmas book on Christmas Eve so I am going to make sure I do that as well with my children. I have also placed Christmas trees in the kids room. I started this when Aniston was born and I decided to carry on the tradition. Aniston has a Barbie tree and Kinsler has a monkey tree. I hope to keep the themes the same for a while but I realize their taste will change as they grow older. But I think it is awesome because now every year they both can pick out an ornament for their own tree. I am also letting them pick one ornament for the big tree this year. Aniston picked out Tinkerbell and well I picked Kinsler's out because he just isnt into it yet. So I picked out a Preschool vintage airplane ornament. (his daddy enjoyed that).

I also made the decision to make a Gingerbread House with Aniston which I have never made before. So I hope this becomes a every year tradition as well. Another thing my mother did every year was make cookies for the doctors, people at the bank, and for friends. So this year I am going to do that. Just to show my appreciation to all the people that work hard and are good friends to me. There have been a lot of people working our house so they are deserving of these treats. I also made my yearly donation to the Toys for Tots and the kids were with me when I did that. So hopefully every year Aniston and Kinsler will get excited about donating toys to children who are less fortunate.

So I hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas and has a great start to the New Year. I am thankful for many things this year and I can't wait to see what next year has in store for me and my family.
